2018 is the Year of the Dog, and it’s the perfect year to finally be adopted! We’re taking time to highlight a few of our pals that we want to find homes in the Year of the Dog.
Age: 5 years old
Sara has been with Special Pals since May, 2016.
Like pals Arctic and Blanco, Sara was brought to Special Pals from an overcrowded animal sanctuary in East Texas. Also like Arctic and Blanco, Sara lived outside all of the time with a doggy roommate sharing her kennel space. She only saw people a few minutes a day, when it was meal time.
What You Need To Know
Although she was rarely socialized before coming to Special Pals, Sara quickly got used to regular human interaction. We have noticed that she takes to women much quicker than men, but once she knows she can trust you, she gets along with everybody.
Her doggy skills are amazing! Sara is incredibly patient with her fellow kennel mates. She is a calm, go-with-the-flow kind of gal. Napolean has become her new best friend, and she is setting a great example of good doggy behavior for him. (We would love to see the pair of them find a home together!)
Sara’s Forever Family
The best home for Sara will be a lot like her: calm and easy going. Since she’s used to having a playmate and she plays well with others, we think she will do well with another dog in the house. As for human siblings, older kids and teenagers are best for Sara.
We would love to introduce you to Sara! Our shelter is open Wednesday-Sunday for adoptions, and we would love for you to meet her. We’d be overjoyed if Sara finds her forever home in the Year of the Dog, but we would be happy to discuss a foster arrangement with the right family. Click here to see Sara on Petfinder.
