2018 is the Year of the Dog, and it’s the perfect year to finally be adopted! We’re taking time to highlight a few of our pals that we want to find homes in the Year of the Dog.
Age: 2 years old
Pippa has been with Special Pals since February, 2017.
We found Pippa roaming around on Greenhouse Road in west Houston. She was confused and terrified, and when we finally got her to the shelter, she hid in her kennel. Eventually she grew to like the staff at Special Pals, especially Aaron!
What You Need To Know
Pippa is still pretty fearful of new people and new situations. It took her almost 2 months to understand that our weekend walking program was a fun activity! She is a young and spunky little lady who still has a lot to learn, but she is incredibly loyal. Pippa loves and trusts the staff at Special Pals, and with time and patience she will grow to love and trust her new family just as much.
Pippa’s Forever Family
A relaxed family with older children would be best for Pippa. A lot of activity and noise will be overwhelming for her as she learns what it’s like in a home. She gets along with other dogs, but her new puppy roommate must be young like she is, and submissive. She does not like cats at all! Because of her escape artist tendencies, her home needs to have a yard that is secure, and her people need to keep one eye on her when she goes out to do her business. Once Pippa finds a person she trusts, she will love you like no other and be the ultimate dog.
We would love to introduce you to Pippa! Our shelter is open Wednesday-Sunday for adoptions, and we would love for you to meet her. We’d be overjoyed if Pippa finds her forever home in the Year of the Dog, but we would be happy to discuss a foster arrangement with the right family. Click here to see Pippa on Petfinder.
