The Giving Tree is back again at Special Pals!
This holiday season, visitors are invited to pick a pal from the Special Pals Giving Tree, located in the shelter lobby. You’ll find one shiny ornament for each of our adoptable dogs and cats. Check out their picture on the front, and see a few items from their holiday wish list on the back!
How the Giving Tree works:
- Stop by the shelter and pick an ornament from the Giving Tree.
- Shop for a treat for your pal (you can order from Amazon too!)
- Wrap your gift in something festive – don’t forget a gift tag so we know who gets the gift!
- Bring the gift back to the shelter and place it under the tree before December 23.
It’s an easy and fun way to give back this holiday season. Heads up, moms and dads: this is a great activity to do with your little ones, too!
Every gift will be opened and shared with our pals for Christmas. In the happy event that the pal you’ve picked from the tree gets a home before Christmas Eve, another pal at the shelter gets to enjoy their gift.
About the Giving Tree
For 2020, the Special Pals Giving Tree ornaments were created by Jacob Patterson of Boy Scout Troop 209 as part of his Eagle Scout project. He crafted and delivered ornaments for our tree, plus a Giving Tree at Camp Bow Wow and several other local businesses. We are so happy to see our tree bring a little holiday cheer to the Special Pals lobby!
Stop by the shelter during regular business hours to pick your own pal from the tree. We are open Wednesday-Sunday 12-4pm.
