We love to decorate the shelter for the holidays, and this year we are adding one very special decoration: the Angel Tree!
Starting Friday, November 24, visitors are invited to pick a pal from the Special Pals Angel Tree, located in the shelter lobby. You’ll find one shiny ornament for each of our adoptable dogs and cats. Check out their picture on the front, and see a few items from their holiday wish list on the back!
How the Angel Tree works:
- Stop by the shelter and pick an ornament from the Angel Tree.
- Shop for a treat for your pal (you can order from Amazon too!)
- Wrap your gift in something festive – don’t forget a gift tag so we know who gets the gift!
- Bring the gift back to the shelter and place it under the tree before Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24.
It’s an easy and fun way to give back this holiday season. Moms and dads, this is a great activity to do with your little ones, too!
Every gift will be opened and shared with our pals for Christmas. In the happy event that the pal you’ve picked from the tree gets a home before Christmas Eve, another pal at the shelter gets to enjoy their gift.
About the Angel Tree
The Special Pals Angel Tree was lovingly decorated by Special Pals volunteer Shelly Hubbard Piehl. She used Kennel Manager Valerie’s beautiful photography, and lots of helping hands from Girl Scout Brownie Troop 129112, to build the Angel Tree. We are so happy to see our tree bring a little holiday cheer to the Special Pals lobby!
Stop by the shelter during regular business hours to pick your own pal from the tree. We are open Wednesday-Thursday 12-4pm, Friday 2-6pm, and Saturday-Sunday 12-4pm.
